Common popular potato dishes are: Mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, steamed potatoes, boiled potatoes, fried potatoes, roasted potatoes, potato chips and finger chips. Potato goes well with most other vegetables and can be used to make different combinations and textures for variety. It adds taste and thickens soups and stews.
Banana:
Bananas are the staple starch-rich fruit in many tropical countries. Depending upon the variety and ripeness, the fruit can be sweet or starchy. The green and unripe bananas contain higher levels of starch. Ripe yellow bananas are softer and taste sweeter due to higher sugar concentrations.
Bananas are eaten deep fried, shallow fried or baked in their skin. Banana chip is a snack produced by slicing and deep frying raw banana or plantain. Chip garnished with salt and chili powder which has an intense banana taste is a very popular favorite. Dried bananas are also ground to make banana flour.
Banana crackers made from ripe banana fruit retain the taste, flavor and goodness of the original fruit.
